Moviegoers in Chennai and in TN are unable to go to the theatres to watch their favorite heroes in action because the theatres have been closed to control the spread of Coronavirus pandemic. The Tamil film industry is now on pause mode due to increasing Coronavirus cases in many districts of TN.
It is now brought out that the film industry would be able to get back on track only when the cinema halls open again. The central government would be deciding on when to reopen all the cinema halls in India and this was as per some producers and theatre owners.
An executive belonging to a popular theatre chain expressed his thoughts. He explained that it would take a long time before the theatres start functioning. He hinted that cinema halls would be one of the last businesses to reopen and it is not a high priority as of now. As of now, decisions on making substantial investments in making movies have been put on hold.

Popular film producer Mr. G. Dhananjayan spoke about how there has been a pause in the operations. The fear of getting infected with Covid-19 is high now among the people. He mentioned that artists, as well as technicians, we’re also scared of getting the infection. He hinted about the various pre-production activities that have been going on now.
The truth is everybody is now waiting for the Coronavirus pandemic to end. It is worthy to note that the financiers have stopped pressurizing the producers to pay interest on the loan amount. Once the normalcy returns, discussions about paying interest, etc would be there.
The exhibition industry would only benefit only when the cinema halls reopen throughout India. This was pointed out by popular film distributor and exhibitor Tiruppur Subramaniam. He added that reopening the theatres throughout India was important and the central government must take decisions.
