“The beauty of a girl cannot be mimicked, fabricated or created by human means, it only occurs naturally.”- Pam Callaghan
For many years, there have been many controversies when it comes to the topic: Girl Child. There were many revolts and actions taken in order for seeking justice for the girls around the globe. All the women tried their best in receiving equal rights in gender inequality. This inequality includes areas such as rights to education, nutrition, legal rights, medical care, and protection from discrimination, violence against women and child marriages.
As time passed some managed to get want they asked for at a minimal level and some didn’t receive any freedom at all. So to create awareness about girls and the problems that they face, the United Nations declared a day, “A day of the Girl Child”. It is celebrated as the “International Day of the Girl Child on October 11” every year. This day was first celebrated in 2012 and ever since its declaration; many social awareness and causes were held for the benefit of the girl child.
A girl child of today is the wife, mother and grandmother of tomorrow. Save her!
The ideal goal of this day is to provide all the girls with opportunities for a source, creativity and empowerment. This enables them to grow stronger in terms of physical and mental health. This also gives them self-confidence and strength in leading their own lives with intelligence and grace. “She may be just one thing to others but she is many things”.
Various events are held on this day to bring forth all the girls together, uniting them as one. Various programs are held in schools and colleges for the better development of the girl/female race. Campaigns are also held in rural areas to educate and provide all needs necessary for those who are in need of it.
Don’t let their lives end before it even begins.
Save Girl Child!
